For the Hobby Rips is a monthly subscription service where you claim a slot — a team, a named player, a Pokémon character, or a type — and receive every card pulled for that slot from our daily breaks. We crack 30 boxes per sport per month across NFL, NBA, MLB, and Pokémon. Your cards are sorted, sleeved, and shipped to you at the end of the month or quarterly via vault shipping.

Live breaks charge you per box — typically $20–$100 per slot per break — with auction pressure and FOMO pricing in real time. If you miss the stream, you miss the break. For the Hobby Rips charges one flat monthly fee that covers 30 boxes of exposure for your slot. No auctions, no live commitment, no pressure. You also get every card from your slot — not just hits — which live breaks almost never give you.

Not at all. Every break is filmed and posted to our Discord community. You can watch on your own time — same day, the next morning, whenever. You'll get a notification in Discord any time a card from your slot is pulled.

NFL football, NBA basketball, MLB baseball, and Pokémon TCG. We break 30 boxes per category every month — 120 boxes total. Product selection varies monthly based on availability and community votes.

A team slot gives you every card from that franchise — except cards belonging to a named player slot holder on that team. A named player slot gives you every card of that specific player regardless of what team content surrounds it. Named player slots are more exclusive (only 5 per sport), more expensive, and available to Aficionado tier only.

Named player slots always supersede team slots. If you hold the Ohtani named slot, every Ohtani card is yours regardless of whether someone else holds the Dodgers team slot. The Dodgers team slot holder gets all other Dodgers cards. For dual-player cards, the card goes to whoever holds the primary featured player.

Enthusiast tier subscribers can request a slot change at the start of each month during the slot selection window — subject to availability. Named player and Pokémon character slots at Aficionado tier are month-to-month and can be changed if you choose not to renew a specific slot, but popular slots may have a waitlist.

It happens — that's the inherent risk of the hobby and part of what makes the hits feel special. For a single empty month, nothing additional happens beyond your subscription. If you get nothing two months in a row, we send you a bonus raw card from our overflow pool at no extra cost. We want every subscriber to feel the value of their membership even in slow stretches.

At the Collector tier we assign you a team or type from whatever slots are still available at the start of the month. You don't get to choose — that's the tradeoff for the lower price. You'll know your assigned slot before the month's breaks begin so you know what to watch for.

30 boxes per sport and Pokémon — 120 boxes total every month. That's one box per category per day. Your slot has exposure to every single one of those breaks in its category.

Every morning Doug posts a poll in Discord for each sport category — usually two or three options from current inventory. Enthusiast and Aficionado members vote, and the most popular product gets cracked that day. The break video is posted to Discord the same day. Collector tier members can watch but don't vote.

Primarily current in-print products — whatever is available and delivers good value for subscribers. As inventory grows we'll also crack vintage and out-of-print sets as special breaks. The community votes on daily product selection, so what gets cracked reflects what subscribers actually want to see.

Every break is filmed from start to finish with no cuts during the rip. Sealed product is shown on camera before opening. Every card pulled is clearly visible and assigned to its slot holder on camera. Videos are archived in Discord so any break can be reviewed at any time. Transparency is the foundation of what we're building.

Monthly shipping subscribers receive their cards by the 5th of the following month. Vault subscribers ship quarterly — January, April, July, and October. You'll receive a message before your shipment goes out confirming the contents and your address.

Every card ships sleeved in a penny sleeve inside a toploader, in a padded bubble mailer or box depending on volume. Standard shipping covers base cards, parallels, inserts, and lower-value pulls. Autos, numbered cards, and 1/1s ship with premium protected packaging — rigid mailer, team bag, tracking, and insurance — for a small additional fee.

$15 for autos and numbered cards. $20 for 1/1s, which includes insurance. Aficionado tier subscribers have premium shipping included on all hits at no extra charge. For everyone else we'll message you when a hit lands and confirm whether you'd like standard or premium shipping for that card.

Yes — message us in Discord before the 1st of the month and we'll update your preference for the coming month. Switching to vault mid-month means your cards from that month accumulate and ship at the next quarterly date.

Collector — $200/month: One randomly assigned team or type slot. Enthusiast — $325/month: Choose your own team or type slot, daily product vote access. Aficionado — $550/month: Named player or Pokémon character slot, premium shipping on hits included, priority slot selection. Founding member pricing is $150, $275, and $450 respectively — locked in forever for pre-launch signups.

Founding members who sign up before our official public launch lock in a discounted rate permanently — $50 off Collector, $50 off Enthusiast, $100 off Aficionado. Your price never increases as long as you stay subscribed. This offer closes the moment we go public, with no exceptions.

You can cancel anytime and you won't be charged the following month. We don't offer refunds on subscription fees for months already in progress — once a month has begun your slot is held and product is being purchased on your behalf. In extraordinary circumstances we handle things case by case. Additional services like concierge sourcing can be credited to a future month if we're unable to deliver.

Refer a friend and both of you save. Your friend gets $25 off their first month. You get $25 off your next month's bill once they complete their second month at full price. There's no limit to how many people you can refer.

After subscribing you'll receive an invite link to our Discord server. Download the Discord app (free), create an account if you don't have one, and click the invite link. Your subscriber role is applied automatically based on your tier. If you run into any issues, message us directly and we'll get you in within a few hours.

Discord is break-focused — daily vote polls, break videos posted as they happen, pull notifications, and shipping updates. It's not a general hobby chat forum, it's the operational home of the subscription. Clean, focused, and easy to follow without being overwhelming.

The longer you stay subscribed the more you earn. Month 3 unlocks a bonus raw card in your next shipment. Month 6 gets you a free add-on slot for one month. Month 12 earns you founding member status in the community — a permanent badge and recognition as someone who helped build this from the ground up.
